1950-60's
Camp continued to thrive in the 1950’s and
1960’s under the strong leadership of YMCA Executive Director Dean Temple Sr.,
who oversaw Camp Directors Norman Hunt, Harry Kyle, and
Stan Kern in the 50’s. Don Asher came on board to direct camp in 1958 and provided
over a decade of continuity staying through 1969.

In the mid 60’s, as was happening at YMCA camps across
the country Segowea began hosting female campers. In the early years, this took place for two weeks at the end of each summer after the boys’ only sessions.
Dean Temple led "Co-ed Camp" personally and hand selected teen co-ed campers who
were eager and honored to attend.
