At the Capital District YMCA, we deliver camp programs in a safe, welcoming environment. Kids who attend our camps enjoy a variety of fun activities. Specifically, day campers enjoy activities involving arts and crafts, sports, swimming, group projects, and creative play. With the guidance of our highly skilled counselors, kids develop positive social skills to help them in school and in life. Day camp programs vary by location. YMCA Staff are Expert and Engaging
You can depend on our staff to ensure that all camp activities are well supervised and safe. We conduct interviews, and complete background checks and intensive staff training. Camp staff are selected on the basis of their experience, education, sensitivity, and enthusiasm.
Character Development
The YMCA of the USA has identified caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility as the four core values of character
development. Camp program activities focus on teaching these values through arts and crafts, sports, circle games, group projects, creative play, and other fun activities. Campers learn to develop positive social skills that help prepare
them to be productive citizens in our community.
