Schenectady YMCA gymnasium Dedication Kicked Off Grand Opening Weekend

The dedication of the James and Lenore Jacobson Gymnasium at the Schenectady YMCA on April 16, 2010 kicked off the Grand Opening Weekend of the new Schenectady YMCA. YMCA, City, County and community leaders were on site to celebrate the official opening of the NEW Schenectady YMCA.

In addition to being used for basketball and YMCA programming, the Jacobson Gymnasium, which is part of the 30,000 square-foot facility on State Street, will also be the home to the Schenectady County Community College Men’s and Women’s Basketball Teams.

The dedication was the first event of the YMCAs grand opening weekend which saw the branch host a basketball tournament, healthy kids day activities and a senior expo on Sunday. For more information contact the Schenectady YMCA at 518.881.0117.
