YMCA 150 Years

The Capital District YMCA has a variety of opportunities for talented individuals who have a desire to help make their community stronger.

Administrative:

Assist with the operation of administrative and program services so that members receive high quality, prompt and courteous service. Task may include typing, data entry, filing, record keeping and assistance with special projects.

Child Care:

Working with children of all ages, assisting with arts and crafts games and playtime, reading stories, homework, and general supervision and guidance with after school activities.

Facilities:

Assist with the general facility maintenance: sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and the upkeep of the grounds. Assist in setting up and breaking down equipment, furniture and supplies for special events.

Fundraising:

Assist as a campaigner for the Capital District YMCA Reach Out For Youth annual campaign. Tell the YMCA story; participate in thank-a-thons, phone-a-thons, campaign kickoff and victory celebrations.

Member Service:

Assist the staff in delivering the highest level of quality service to our members by conducting branch tours, educating members on branch rules and regulations, serving as a communication link between the staff and membership and being accessible to members for comments, questions and suggestions.

Program Delivery:

Assist in various areas of program delivery, including but not limited to:
Aquatics - assist instructors with swim lessons and assist with meets and special events.
Coaching - assist youth members to develop athletic abilities and leadership skills; develop lesson plans and schedules; assist in coordinating special events and tournaments. Demonstrate leadership qualities that exemplify the YMCA's core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
